Sandra Bridges paintings exist at the intersection of art & music, so quite naturally, we're big fans. Whether her pencil drawings on paper or oil on linen, Sandra makes you feel like you're in the room with the great musician you're witnessing. Whether John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, or Charles Mingus, Sandra brings them to life through their own creativity and shines a light on the eras these musicians so clearly resemble. Through the crowd, the smoke in the jazz club, or our very own imagination, Sandra Bridges brings American music history back to life.

Sandra got in touch with us via our submission page and after taking a closer look, we realized how much she has contributed to this city. Having connected with painting as a teenager, Sandra went on to become a school teacher, investing 35 years in Chicago's youth. In 2011, she reconnected with her creative passion and now is a full time artist. We love hearing about people's paths, and how their creative journeys meander. We salute Sandra for he dedication to Chicago, as well as the way she's gravitated back to her passion.
