At this point, how we came across the agile minds behind NOWhere Limited is a total haze, but who cares, we love them! Scott Lickstein and Elisha Sarti are held in high esteem by IPMM, because they:
A) Are rule breakers. We're not big on rules, we like that they are constantly coloring outside the lines.
B) They're both extremely gracious and creative.
Now, aside from our obvious bias, we have to tell you about their latest artful act, which is entitled The All Roads Project in New York City. Talk about reducing the barriers to participation! This shit is magnificent. Long story short, they turned their car into an art gallery. Yea, a cozy SUV has facilitated a curbside viewing area for their running roster of exhibitions. Openings have occurred the past two weeks, with more planned for the upcoming weeks. Don Porcella and Elisha Sarti's work have been featured, and both are certainly worth a gander. Also, Steven Charles' show is tonight!! Stop by the Chelsea art district and check it out! The map of exactly where the SUV is stationed is below.
Here's what Scott and Elisha have to say about the project:
"NOWhere Limited's All Roads Project is a new experiment in alternative exhibition space. Conceived with a "waste not want not" mentality, artists Elisha Sarti and Scott Lickstein, co-founders of NOWhere Limited, converted their SUV into Chelsea's smallest art space. "Almost exactly one year ago, we moved to New York City and made a habit of attending the weekly Thursday night openings in the Chelsea art district. This behavior led to a strong desire to include our sensibilities into the mix. Week after week, we'd park in the neighborhood until it dawned on us that we already had a space - albeit very small - in which to showcase the art that we care about most. In the coming weeks we will be holding one night solo exhibits in our bright red Jeep featuring work from artists in New York City and beyond. Visitors are able to view paintings and sculpture and buy curbside from the comfort of their personal mobile device."
