Melissa Loop (Minneapolis, MN)

Posted by Evan La Ruffa on 4th Jan 2012

Description: Technicolor pixelized environments, and waterfalls of energy melded with patterns and scenes. That help make sense of it at all?

Places combined with bold strokes of color make for a compelling contrast of structure and utter fantasy. It's playful and accesible, and most importantly, engaging. Each of Melissa Loop's works seem to be asking you to come and play in their quasi-futuristic lanscapes. There's a sincerity and vibrance that results in an inviting presence... and we dig that.

Note: This past October she had an exhibition at Breeze Block Gallery in Portland, OR.
