We always think about where people come from after admiring their art. It's an anthropological mindset, as in: what set of circumstances caused this person to ask these questions? Much less, in this context? Lucky for us all, that entire lineage of thought is just as interesting as ever in this case. Jason De Caires Taylor is a sculptor who studied at the London Institute of Art, and has used his knowledge to create some of the most incredible example sof installation art we have ever seen. While these artificial reefs help replace the increasingly damaged ones, they do so in an eery & beautiful way. Divers seem to be enjoying his contributions as well, but one can't help but think about where these sculptures are placed, seemingly tracking a global history which saw the sea commandeer lives that should have never been shipwrecked.
